For the eighth year running and around this time of year, AB ASESORES has taught the Legislation and Intellectual Property course for the doctorate in applied engineering offered by TECNUN at the University of Navarra on the San Sebastián campus.
The course is made up of eight 3-hour training sessions in which the aim is for future doctors to acquire the basic concepts relating to IP, which in Spain is subdivided into Industrial Property (patents, designs and trademarks) and Intellectual Property (copyright), especially from an eminently practical perspective in the relationship between IP and a company.
Similarly, the aim is for students to obtain basic skills in the use of free Patent Databases and be able to use this information for their own benefit, as well as gaining basic legal knowledge on copyright, registration licences, research projects, know-how, Internet domain names, etc.
This is training that technical degrees generally lack, but which is essential for business activity within any sector.
